Stem and Glory King St

Stem and Glory

One snowy December morning, some delightful Cambridge Instagrammers and I met up at the newly opened city centre location of Stem and Glory (previous review of their roast dinner here) for some vegan-tastic brunch.

Firstly, I’m glad to report that the team on King Street team are just as friendly and lovely as the Chesterton team, and are very good at recommending things if you can’t pick from the menu. People mourning the loss of Afternoon Tease (which was at the location before) will be pleased to find some old friends on the menu.

Stem and Glory

Though I realllllly wanted to have some festive overnight oats, I went for the avocado on toast with smokey tempeh “bacon”. The bread is all from the Stir bakery, and so they didn’t have gluten free, sadly.

It was really yummy, with the avocado seasoned to perfection. I liked the “bacon” though it wasn’t quite as bacony as the tofu in the Doppelganger Burger.

Stem and Glory

Even though it’s called “express”, there are still tables to sit down and enjoy the food as with the original Stem and Glory. I had thought that it was take-out only when I first read about it.

Though the loss of Afternoon Tease is felt by us all, I’m so glad to see another Cambridge company grow and thrive.
