Dinner at the Cambridge Cookery School

Many of us in Cambridge will be aware of the Cambridge Cookery School, where one can go and learn to cook from the pros. But did you know that they have a cafe and wine bar there too? I certainly didn’t!

Which is why I’m so glad they invited me and a bunch of other Cambridge food bloggers over for dinner on Saturday night. What a wonderful evening we had!

We were treated to some of their sharing platters – Japanese, meze, Scandinavian and Italian. Each board was piled with the most amazing food, and I didn’t even feel bad being the vegetarian as there was a lot going on without meat!

Highlights for me include – the hummus, the vegetable tempura (tasted just like being back in Japan!), and the pesto was out of this world too. We started the evening with a pomegranate cocktail with grapefruit, and some little rosemary almonds to snack on…honestly I could have also just kept on with these two all night as well, they were so good!

I’m feeling such warm fuzzies about the blogging community right now, both those who interact with me here, but those who I get to hang out with in Cambridge. On Saturday I got to hang out with my girl Rosie (utterly gorgeous, inside and out), Estefania and Frank from Que Rico Tapas (wonderfully bad influences!) and Charlotte from the Bone White China team, absolutely the kind of lady you need by your side on a night out.

To finish, we had little pots of Eton mess (my favourite dessert!) and gluten free brownies. We were truly spoilt!

I will absolutely be coming back for their evening food…but guys. Guys. Check out these brunch options. DO YOU SEE THAT AVOCADO???

Who’s coming for brunch with me?

The Cambridge Cookery School Cafe is perfect for groups of friends, or intimate dates. The staff, the music, the atmosphere is delightful. Parking is slightly tricky, so I advise walking, cycling or getting a taxi like we did (it’s a fair distance from Chesterton!)

Find The Cambridge Cookery School Cafe on Purbeck Rd, Cambridge CB2 8EB. Behind Hills Road Sixth Form.

We were treated to dinner, but as always, my thoughts and review is true and unbiased.

  1. A great post Charlotte!

  2. Oh my days this good looks amazing, need to check this place out.
