Things I’m Loving Right Now

As we slowly go into Autumn, I’ve changed the things I carry around with me. Now the schools are back, work is super crazy and my life is completely on the go. Here are a few things that have been making my life easier right now.

Kirakira Studio sent me this amazing AHA face cleanser* to try. It’s completely natural, not tested on animals, and removes all makeup in a flash. I use it with a muslin cloth, so my face is squeaky clean and fresh right away. You only have to use a little, so the £19.99 bottle is lasting me ages. I’ve seen an improvement in my complexion since starting using it, so this is absolutely a keeper product for me.

When I’ve been typing ages, I give my hands a bit of a break with some moisturiser. I really love heavily scented creams, ones that act as some aromatherapy for me too. Boxworth Botanicals have this amazing lavender hand cream* that takes me back to the trip we made in the summer to the Hitchin Lavender Fields. The lovely ladies who run this business are local to Cambridge and do some fairs throughout the year. You can buy their stuff online but if you do spot them out and about, do stop for a chat!

Speaking of aromatherapy, while I was hunting around Primark the other day I came across this Primark anti-stress spray. At just £1.50 I thought it was worth a try – and I really love it! The spa-like scent doesn’t stay around very long, probably about 10 seconds, but it’s enough to give me a calming boost when I’m feeling stressed.

 

After seeing them on Lizzie‘s Instagram, I wanted to test out Teapigs’ new (?? Perhaps. I’d not seen them before at least) flavours. Teapigs cost so much, so this was absolutely a treat for me, and I chose the rhubarb and ginger flavour. The rhubarb doesn’t come through so much, just makes the ginger a little less bitter, but they still taste great and are a fab caffeine-free warming drink to have at work when I’m bouncing off the walls.

These earrings are literally my favourite things right now, and were from Forever21. They always have such great accessories!

Lastly, Breathe Magazine* has been an amazing read this month. Aimed at people wanting to embrace mindfulness, it has fantastic articles on how to control breathing, on making pickles and jams and activities that help focus on what’s important.

While I’ve been loving Breathe, I wanted to focus on Teen Breathe*. It’s their new publication, which, in my opinion, is so needed, with more and more young people needing to seek advice from mental health professionals.

As someone who works with teenagers, I was really glad to see the article on keeping safe online. I do worry about everything young people share, and how they may not realise who would be viewing their activity.

Aside from articles on mindfulness, much like the adults’ version, I really loved the repeated theme of loving yourself and being authentic. In particular, I was so happy to see these little cartoons helping young readers learn how to be kind to themselves and not focus on external approval.

You can find Breathe magazine and Teen Breathe wherever there are good magazine selections – in Cambridge I spotted them both in WH Smiths, Waterstones and Tesco.

  4. I can’t believe those earrings are Forever 21! Love them! I’ve never bought accessories there but now I definitely need to take a look. So very cool to learn there’s a magazine and especially a teen version focusing on mindfulness – thanks for sharing these gems!
